Hasmik Amirian was accepted into the Armenian Ballet at the age of 7. Armenian National Ballet’s program was an offshoot of the Kirov and Bolshoi schools. Many of the students went on to join the Kirov and Bolshoi. Hasmik worked with such luminaries as Ludmilla Saharova and many other Prima Ballerinas. At 18, Hasmik joined the Armenian National Opera Ballet Theatre. She was quickly promoted to soloist and toured the world performing solo and principal roles. In 1995, Hasmik joined Los Angeles Classical Ballet as a soloist, also performing solo and principal roles. Hasmik also worked as a guest artist in various companies such as Marla Bengam Contemporary Ballet, Hasmik has taught ballet in Los Angeles and around the country for many years. Hasmik joined Marat Daukeyev School of Ballet in 2002 and became Assistant Director in 2007.
Currently, Hasmik teaches at Marat Daukeyev School of Ballet, Arsen Serobian’s Los Angeles Ballet Academy in Encino, Peninsula School of Performing Art ballet school in Palos Verdes, Pasadena Civic Ballet and open ballet classes at Cotrone Pilates Studio and privates in various locations. Hasmik’s students have received invitations to dance at various prestigious companies such as Royal Ballet Bolshoi, Berlin, Hamburg and Dutch National Ballet. She continues to instruct her students to achieve excellence in dance.
